This is a basement that I was able to design from top to bottom. I had them take out the floating ceiling and lay new flooring. I also got to pick out all of the furniture and accessories. I layed the furniture out to make it functional, and then styled the accessories. I love how it turned out!
Woodland Gender-neutral Nursery
I think the anticipation involved in designing a nursery is my favorite part! I wanted this nursery to be a room the child could enjoy now, but also grow into. The father wanted a woodland theme, so I picked a neutral, but warm color scheme and added in some wood features. Note the curtain rod, the letter, and of course the branch mobile!
This room was added in a basement, so in order to have it meet code we added an egress window. Once the walls were built, the fun could start. I wanted it to feel classy, but also welcoming. I chose white bedding because it feels clean, then added the gold accents and the deep blue to contrast. The mirror was the inspiration for adding gold because it is a family heirloom, and the bedside sconces are home made!
This room changed a couple times, the first version was styled with light blues and creams. Later it changed to light green with rust accents to better fit the family, but the feature wall with the flowers had to stay!
A romantic place to get away from life is what this bedroom is meant to be. The wall of curtains serves to cover a window (and allow more flexibility with the furniture layout) but also adds a beautiful softness that the room previously lacked.
This kitchen had white painted cabinets when we started, and they made the room feel stark (and were hard to keep clean)! We repainted and distressed the cabinets to give the room more depth, and we also replaced the hardware with a simpler and easier to clean design.
Southwestern Family Room
This is a family room that is meant to be a playroom for the grandkids, while also serving to entertain guests. I was able to help them pick out their sofas, tables, ottoman, accessories, and barstools.
This is a before and after of an entry space that we redesigned. It went from being a seldomly used closet to and easy to use and less cluttered space. We added the removable storage bench, and then replaced the clothes rod with more functional hooks.
